Bossard started her career as a commercial seafood expert in 1999, when she started working as a crew member on the F/V Sunset, a 65' halibut schooner turned to salmon tender with Murat Aritan. He has been an commercial fisherman from 1993. Bossard has been engaged to Aritan and they have come together to prove their claim to the market. They support conservative, profitable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. In 2007, she became a mother of two young children Bella age three and Andre 1 Bossard then returning to living in Philadelphia, opened a direct wholesale distribution of seafood known as Otolith. Its name is a sweet reminder of her intimate understanding of fish biology and her husband's long connection to the industry of seafood, often keeping them from each other for 5 months or more when they are focused on their financial and environmental goals which are a reflection of their individuality and determination to serve their communities wherever they live. Bossard along with her son Andre and Isabella, her daughter Isabella will be returning home to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands in the salmon season.
